Happy National Library Week 2022.
National Library Week is celebrated every year in the United States and this year, from April 03 – 09 2022. Libraries are loved by all Americans for their knowledge and information resources, which help people learn more about their country and the world. National Library Week celebrates the importance of libraries and their impact on American society.
Michigan is home to more than 397 public library systems that provide services to the public at 651 locations. Michigan Public Library Week, observed annually, and celebrates libraries and their importance to communities across the state. Michigan received a National Library Service for All Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), allowing all residents access to free internet services at participating libraries.
This year librarians will be hosting events and offering discounts on items. This week, celebrate the National Library Week by going to your local library and checking out some new books! The library is a great place to find information, research papers, and more. Libraries are always changing and expanding so be sure to check back often for new additions! Michigan Public Libraries are participating by hosting special programs and events.
Some of the events that Michigan Public Libraries are hosting include storytime, book signings, scavenger hunts, and family movie nights. All libraries are also providing free access to eBooks, audiobooks, and digital newspapers throughout National Library Week.
Libraries are important institutions that help citizens access information and resources they need to be successful in today’s world. By celebrating National Library Week at Michigan Public Libraries, we hope to encourage residents to take advantage of the resources our libraries have to offer.
