January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023

In the shadow of one of the world’s largest locomotives, mini metal machines navigate through historic model train buildings, showing just how far we’ve come.

The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, is home to a large and impressive Model Train Layout demonstration that showcases the history and evolution of America’s railroads. The layout features various train models, including steam and diesel engines, as well as detailed replicas of train stations and other railroad-related structures. The exhibit also includes interactive elements, such as a working telegraph and a train schedule board, that allow visitors to experience what it was like to work on the railroad in the past.

It demonstrates how railroads played an important role in the development of America, connecting people, communities, and businesses, and shaping the nation’s economy, culture and way of life.
